Working in a true partnership involving the London Borough of Barking and Dagenham and Southern Housing Group, we successfully delivered this milestone mixed-use project at Dagenham Heathway.

At the heart of the development is a new IT interactive library capable of accommodating over 50,000 books together with a collection of 82 new one-bed and two-bed homes and shops at street level.

Initially owned by the Borough, the site was transferred to Bouygues Development in order to subsidise the overall cost of the library. The proceeds from the sale of the residential elements further contributed to the cost of the library.

Church Elm Court, the residential element of the development, is a prominent and striking part of the overall scheme. It is within close proximity of local transport links and town facilities. All homes feature impressive design and high quality standard features.

Councillor Bert Collins, Cabinet Member for Culture and Sport, London Borough of Barking & Dagenham, praised the library as “a fantastic facility that will benefit residents of the Borough for many years to come”.
