The Kent History and Library Centre provides Maidstone and the wider county of Kent with an exemplar mixed-use development that creates a dramatic gateway into Maidstone Town Centre.

The project combines a community facility incorporating a library, history and archive centre, with 117 new homes across two buildings – 60 for West Kent Housing Association and 57 for Housing 21.

The detailed design of the panoramic glass façades and pronounced overhanging canopy give the new History and Library Centre a safe, secure and inviting feel.

The design of the buildings focused on establishing a new community close to the centre of town by bringing together three different end users to a single site.
