Working at Linkcity: Q&A with Alex Bull

April 19th 2021

One of the best things about Linkcity is our people. To celebrate this, we have launched a series of Q&As to showcase our diverse, talented team and the variety of roles available here. Last time we spoke to Anika Winkler. Next up is Alex Bull, who started at Linkcity on the graduate scheme and now has a permanent position as a Senior Development Officer.

Tell us a bit about your time on the graduate scheme.

I started as a Graduate Development Officer with Linkcity in 2018. My Graduate Programme role focused on the pre-financial close negotiations with investors on our Hallsville Quarter Phase 3 and Canterbury Riverside schemes, both of which are now under construction. I am excited to visit the completed projects soon.

What were the highlights of your time on the graduate scheme?

As part of my time in the Graduate Programme I have been able to visit multiple Linkcity sites across the country. Over the course of the scheme, I was able to meet a wealth of individuals across the business entities enabling me to develop my understanding of the wider Bouygues group and how this enables us to add client value. I have been able to pursue the RICS chartership programme with the support of mentors within Linkcity. I was very pleased to conclude my graduate scheme alongside qualifying as a chartered planning and development surveyor.

What was the transition like coming off the graduate scheme and into a more permanent role?

The transition into my permanent role within Linkcity was simple as my responsibilities had grown naturally over time with the encouragement and support offered by colleagues. I am looking forward to completing more projects with the business. I am now working on the third phase of our student accommodation development at the University of Essex where I hope to continue my personal and professional development. It is so rewarding to contribute toward creating new places that everyone can be proud of.
