Linkcity names CHICKS as its 2019 charity partnerJanuary 29th 2019
As part of its commitment to local communities, Linkcity has partnered with CHICKS, a charity that provides breaks for children with difficult home lives.
CHICKS, formerly known as Camping Holidays for Inner City Kids, has two rural retreats in the West Country and one in Derbyshire. It was founded by two teachers and has been running for over 26 years. In that time it has helped more than 17,000 children.
CHICKS relies on over 650 volunteers each year. Linkcity has started a one-year partnership consisting of fundraising to sponsor a retreat for 16 children and volunteering, which might include helping to refurbish one of the three holiday venues and/or volunteering on one of the retreats.
Andrew Dean, CEO of CHICKS, said:
“We are hugely grateful to Linkcity, part of Bouygues Construction United Kingdom, for choosing to support CHICKS as its Charity of the Year. We are totally overwhelmed by the organisation’s commitment to fund an entire CHICKS break for 16 children. This incredible support will make a huge difference to so many children’s lives. We look forward to hearing more about your fundraising efforts and seeing you as volunteers on a CHICKS break in 2019. Huge thanks again from all of us here at CHICKS.”
Nicolas Guérin, Managing Director of Linkcity, said:
“We’re excited to work with CHICKS as our charity partner for 2019. Our focus as a developer is on creating great places that improve the lives of the people who live, work or spend time in them. CHICKS does exceptionally valuable work in many of the cities and London boroughs where we are most active, and this partnership gives us an opportunity to help transform people’s lives in those communities from a very different perspective.”
