Marks & Spencer takes retail space at Queen’s Park Place, South KilburnAugust 13th 2014
Bouygues Development and the London Borough of Brent announce that Marks & Spencer has taken the ground-floor retail space at Queen’s Park Place, their residential-led development in South Kilburn.
Located adjacent to Queen’s Park station, the £65m scheme forms part of the wider South Kilburn Regeneration Programme and will include 116 private apartments, being delivered in partnership with Londonewcastle, and 28 affordable units that London Quadrant Housing will manage. On completion of the scheme in 2016, Marks & Spencer will open the 5,000 sq ft retail unit as a Simply Food store, offering a wide range of delicious food from its popular ranges including Count On Us, Fuller For Longer and Classic.
Nicolas Guérin, Managing Director of Bouygues Development, said:
“Marks & Spencer’s Simply Food offering will be an excellent addition to Queen’s Park Place, offering a valuable amenity to residents of the scheme as well as the general public. This project is another example of our collaboration with local authorities to deliver regeneration schemes that help shape a better life for communities.”
Cllr Margaret McLennan, Lead Member for Regeneration and Housing at the London Borough of Brent, said:
“The arrival of M&S at Queen’s Park Place is fantastic news for South Kilburn. We’re investing heavily in the regeneration of South Kilburn with lots of new homes being built and we’re thrilled that blue-chip businesses want to open branches here. The store opening will bring job opportunities for local residents. Working with Bouygues Development and Londonewcastle, we are making this part of Brent an exceptionally attractive place to live and work. M&S’s quality retail offering, together with the high standard of the new homes being delivered here, will add to the growing appeal of the area.”
Scott Elgin, Regional Manager for North London Simply Food Marks & Spencer stores, said:
“We are excited to be opening an M&S Simply Food store at Queen’s Park Place in South Kilburn. At our new store we want to delight and excite customers by offering a wide variety of mouth-watering everyday essentials to special occasion food. Plans to build the store are progressing well and we look forward to welcoming local customers when our doors open in 2016.”
