In conjunction with the London Borough of Newham, we are delivering Hallsville Quarter, a new £600m town centre which is set to establish a new and thriving focal point for this up-and-coming east London neighbourhood.

Hallsville Quarter forms part of the £3.7bn Canning Town & Customs House Regeneration Programme and is designed to create a buzzy new town centre as well as serve as a catalyst to transform the wider area. The six-acre scheme, which is being delivered in five phases, will provide approximately 1,100 mixed-tenure homes and over 30,000 sq m leisure, retail and community space.

A £600m Masterplan

Hallsville Quarter is one of the most exciting and significant town centre regeneration projects currently taking place in London. Together with the London Borough of Newham, Linkcity is delivering the £600m new town centre for Canning Town in a series of five phases. Once complete, it will provide approximately 1,100 homes, over 30,000 sq m of leisure and retail spaces as well as new facilities for the local community.

A New Chapter for Canning Town

The area, which lies on the north side of the River Thames, takes in the historic Royal Docks of east London. Once a centre of thriving trade, it is now the focus of a major regeneration project which aims to establish this as the heartland of the new East End within a decade.

Working closely with the London Borough of Newham, and private investors Mountain Capital and One Housing Group, Linkcity unlocked the development potential of the site back in 2012 when the challenging economic conditions meant many projects across the capital stalled due to lack of funding.

Phased Delivery

Our first project was to deliver a 7,500 sq m food store, car park and 179 new homes above set in a shared landscaped garden. An energy centre was built to provide heating and hot water for the whole masterplan.

A further 250 new homes of mixed tenure were delivered in the second phase, alongside a hotel, retail and restaurant units, gym and medical centre. This phase also linked Hallsville Quarter to the underground station at Canning Town (it’s on the Jubilee Line).

Phase three completes the main public spaces with a new civic square and park surrounded by shops, cafes and restaurants—the heart of Hallsville Quarter. It also provides 620 new homes, a health centre and commercial space with further shops and leisure outlets.

The final phases of 4 and 5 will deliver office space, student accommodation and additional retail and leisure.
